Mr. Peterson had a suggestion that Midsummer 2013 be held at Kapiolani park. He suggests that "The flower pole might be good publicity and people might be more aware of the club." and I happen to agree. Since I am in charge of the Midsummer 2013, would You like to be on the Midsummer fest committee to help organize and put this event together?
My Mother told me a story about "Fastelaun" not long ago, it was held the same day as Chinese New Year. It went something like this"

On this day the Children dress up first thing in the morning and head to the parents' bedroom to wake them up by hitting them with branches. The smart parents load up the branch used with treats so the Children don't smash them to badly when hitting the Parents with the branch.
What a nice festive evening we had. I would especialy like to thank our Members who are just amazing. I'm still looking for nice photos if you have any to share. Upload them via email. Again, the Board of Directors to be so organized it only took a meeting of envitation stuffing and the mailout was on it's way. Thank you for volenteering your time. Midsummer Festival 2012 was a success! Thanks all of you for coming out and helping the Scandinavian Club of Hawaii celebrate Midsummer! Below is a quick synopsis of the Midsummer Festival 2012 potluck. What a blast! Thank you Blue Stone! It was very nice to see and welcome all new Guests and Members; about 50 of You attended - what a nice surprise with about 22 families and individuals registered online, we thank you for registering, it was good to see you all again. The weather was perfect in Lanikai.
The show How The Earth Was Made: Sahara near the end of the show, mentions an interesting bit on how Iceland was made early in geologic times. Very interesting... Did anybody see it?

Presidents Message: Wow! Another year has already past. Here is a quick look at 2011. One of last years goals (inspired by the board) was to go digital. What a successful year we had; the technology has "ripe" enough to make more human sense out of it.
