Midsommer, the celebration of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, will be celebrated by the Scandinavian Club on June 23rd, 2012 at the Bluestone Townhome Recreation Center in Lanikai. The event will last from 11 AM to 4 PM. Drive to the entrance of the Bluestone Townhome security gate on Kaelepulu Drive. Announce on the Driveway Gate Intercom that you are there for the Midsommer festival and you will be buzzed in. Drive to the Recreation Center and find parking, or park on the Kaneohe side of the street leading to the lower parking area, past the Recreation Center.
Events: We will be having a potluck late lunch at 1:30 PM. There will be a grill available for those who wish to barbeque. Dancing around the maypole will commence after lunch. There will be a hike up to the bunker on Lanikai Ridge. The hike will begin at 11:30 AM. Meet at the Recreation Center. There is a pool and jacuzzi at the Recreation Center. Bring a swimsuit, swim in the pool, bathe in the bubbling waters of the jacuzzi or lay on a lawn chair and soak up the sun. The club will provide cups, plates, utensils and drinks.

Presidents Message: Wow! Another year has already past. Here is a quick look at 2011. One of last years goals (inspired by the board) was to go digital. What a successful year we had; the technology has "ripe" enough to make more human sense out of it.
The Scandinavian Club of Hawaii, chartered in 1935, with the mission to further the social and recreational interests of the Scandinavian community in Hawaii through cultural celebrations and festivities, and to promote the exchange of ideas for the development of understanding and mutual benefit between Hawaii and greater Scandinavia and organizes and presents the Midsommer Festival, the Fish Fry, and the Santa Lucia Festival.
